As the creative force behind Mosman Brides and the Chief Marketing Officer for Emerald City Hotels, I’m often asked about my own wedding story. I’m Kate Branch, and if you know anything about me, you’ll know how much pride I take in being part of Mosman's wedding scene. 

The crowning jewel the Emerald City Collection is The Albert Mosman. The venue that, despite the challenges opening in February 2020, has quickly become the go-to destination for brides in Mosman to begin their journey to “I do.”

Before I became lucky enough to be a part of so many beautiful weddings here, I experienced the magic of Mosman for myself.  In 2010, my husband, Chief Executive Officer of The Albert Mosman, Jean Claude Branch and I said our vows right here in the postcode of 2088. 

It was one of those days where everything was meant to be—the venue, the vibe, the whole thing. Okay, I’m kidding—it absolutely bucketed down with rain. But hey, rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck, right? And as a former wedding photographer, let me tell you: rain may not deliver your picture-perfect blue skies, but it’s like nature’s built-in soft box. Perfect lighting for portraits without even trying!

Yes, the weather was unexpected, but it didn’t take away from the fact that we were surrounded by family, friends, and a sense of joy and excitement. I’ll always remember the details. One of my favourite touches was displaying family wedding photos from both our parents and grandparents. 

As a bride, I wanted to create a day that was uniquely ours, yet tied to something deeper—a celebration that wasn’t just about us, but about the love that’s stood the test of time in our families. It’s a sentiment I hold dear, and one I now get to share with so many couples who are beginning their own love stories at Mosman Brides.

If you’re planning your own wedding, here’s a tip: Don’t be afraid to incorporate personal touches like family photos or heirlooms. It’s those small, thoughtful details that will make your day truly unforgettable.
